Different tones yelid different shapes, with the incredible "holy crap" type of sitting in your seat, eyes wdening in disbelieve as you watch and listen.



The power and versatility of sound waves can never be underestimated.

Interesting, I followed the links down in the comments section. It looks like this is a technique to test resonance in instruments. Pretty sweet.

The thing that I find most intriguing, is how much the rice (or sand) acts like iron shavings in a magnteic field. It's like sound waves becoming almost field-like, wholly dependend on frequency.

I'm thinking of the ramifications one could get from using this as a form of displacement map, compound blur effect. The results could be stunning. Having a particle sim do that would be a nighmare.
