I'm trying to work some news footage into a documentary I'm working on. The news coverage is on both vhs and DVD. The DVD is just a regular DVDr I recorded the news onto on a burner. I am working with FCP, a deck, and a VCR/DVD player combined. The VCR/DVD has outputs. It has the standard video red, white, and yellow output. It also has a output section that says "DVD only" which has a a s-video out, a red and white line audio out, and a green video out and black digital audio out.
My deck has a red white and yellow video input, a s-video input, and outputs via firewire. And it has a toggle switch to choose between dv, s-video, and video.
All that being said! Although i haven't tried the s-video (because I don't have a cable) I can't get any of it to show up in my log and capture. Do I need to change settings or something? I'm editing on a 24pa timeline. Thanks
