VHS in Malayasia?

I know this is a pretty lame question, but I got started in video production at the DVD stage..( so I've never made anything VHS for clients)

If a client wants their DVD material on VHS, and I record it to a VHS tape from a player I have in the US, can they play the tape on a vhs player in Malayasia? does it matter if it is ntsc or pal?

any idea what to charge for that? the program is about 50 minutes.

Pooh,
Why would a client want their DVD material on VHS? Nowadays, DVD players are way cheaper than VHS players. It would be least expensive for both parties to go to DVD. If I ever get a client that ask for VHS (which some have) I basically will talk them into going all DVD. My friends in Asia says VHS movies here plays there. I think they use VHS players from here though. So I don't know. You can just do a quick search online to find out.

bluespider-

the clients want to show their video but not carry a laptop. so they are asking about bringing a vhs tape with them on their vacation. I am about to suggest buying a cheapie portable dvd player..but well, they asked about dvd.

in actuality, that would be much smarter, as they would get to keep the dvd player (and watch stuff on the plane!) instead of paying me to do the conversion, send it, etc..
