VHS -> DVX -> Premiere

I want to put some VHS footage onto my computer. Originally i was going to put it onto miniDV then from there i would capture it into Premiere. But now i have my VCR hooked up to my DVX, and my DVX hooked up to my computer. No miniDV involved. When i try to capture in premiere, premiere is looking for a tape in my DVX. How do i capture the feed from the VHS?
 
I don't normally do this with my DVX but I believe you have to put the camera in VCR mode and then go into the menus and in the AV IN/OUT SETUP menu, turn "DV Out" to on.
