VHS-C to DVD

Hi, I want to convert about 15 VHS-C tapes to SD DVD. I checked around and most of the places charge about average 10-15 bucks for 1 hour so I am looking at over $200. Is there a easy way of doing this by myself? what would it take for me to do this myself asuming that I have a latest laptop?

thanks

thanks DC so lets say if i get the adapter cartridge for my VCR that plays VHS-C, how do i connect that to my PC?

Yep, that's the tricky part: Having a device to connect to your computer to capture with.

That's why I'm thinking that you should do what Ryan suggested OR what I suggested with the DVD-Recorder box.

There are (relatively) low-cost USB capture devices like this one out there. Going to a DV camcorder as ryan suggests would also work (well, depending on the camcorder, I've seen some that don't support analog input), but doubles your capture time (once to DV, and then once into the computer), so I guess the choice is, do you want to do this cheap or quick? :)

(Although $10 - 15 per hour is not horrible, around my area it's more like $35.)

There are several small RCA to USB adaptors, that will go from your cam or VCR to your Edit PC's USB, letting you capture it. They run about $40. Check New Egg, Tiger Direct, and WalMart online of all places.
