VH1 Top Hair Bands

Re: VH1 Top Hair Bands

Don't feel bad, John; ABC ran a special on Monday night called "The Best TV Shows Which Never Were," exploring failed TV pilots . . . all of which were run as movies of the week at one point or another. I remembered watching all but one of them.

Rex "Street Hawk" Smith was well-represented.

Re: VH1 Top Hair Bands

I’m a frequent visitor to the local HBA (Hair Bands Anonymous, we break out our combat boots and discuss how we hated those bands then and still hate them now but we still know all the choruses/hooks, it’s sick :-X). Those shameless VH1 people are such enablers, recovery is difficult. In their time, those songs were shoved at us like some sick hairy mind control experiment so it’s no wonder there engrained in our psyche. (I read some study somewhere about “the songs you hate but can’t get out of your head”, I think it was something like twisted brief binges of self loathing or something or bad thought deferral, babble, babble ???)

And now that the 80’s are considered ‘classic’, a lot of radio stations have perpetuated the torture. My friends crank those tunes whenever we’re on a road trip and I can’t control the dial just to see me projectile vomit uncontrollably.

Damn……. you said "Rex Smith". I thought the forces of good taste had risen up and assassinated him and erased his existence completely ;D
