for the longest time now for some reason all my footage has been looking bad on the computer. everytime i export a movie it has those "jaggies" along the edges of objects. its been bugging me alot. and its not my camera becuase even footage i take of other peoples harddrives do it. i have no clue why it does this but heres the weirdest part: yesterday i brought a clip into compressor to compress it and accidently had the codec as a jpeg. when i viewed it it almost looked twice as good as the original quicktime movie. no jaggies or anything. and it was compressed!

sorry i didnt know where to post this, maybe it has to do with my fcp. but has anyone else experienced this??

if the Jpeg codec worked for you then use it nothing wrong with that. Try doing an uncompressed export and see if it still looks bad. It might just be the DV compression that is making your image screwy

Yep me too, whenever I 'crop' down a picture or frame the edge is ok, but when I rotate the frame slightly, there goes the jaggies! I'm stumped.

thats not it, it even has the jaggies when in my viewer, and its only on my computer. i thaught it was my camera or somthing, but i got some clips off a friends harddrive, and they also had the jaggies just when watching the raw mov. they looked fine on his computer though. i'll post a screen grab in a minute of what i mean

no, i have it set to full, but my point is it has nothing to do with final cut at all. all my files look like that even outside of fcp, i have had full res clip sent to me over aim just to watch and they too have the jaggies. im going crazy!
