I am looking to put together a venue system to start using on the movie we will be shooting at our studio. I have a list of stuff put together but was just wanting to get others opinion. Like is there some obvious part I am overlooking and any little point that would help. I have not used a venue system but the head guys here want to but one so I am going to get a package set up for them. Here is my list

Lectrosonics Venue System
Lectrosonics VRS Reciever Module X6
Lectrosonics SMA Digital Hybrid Transmitter x6
Sanken COS-11D Lavalier w/TA5F Connector X6

I am looking to have up to 6 lavs going so from what I have read and see with these products I should be able to run 6 fine.

O and the studio I work at is getting a new site up and going check it out if you want. www.mmokc.com I am head of sound/sound design. I do all the location and post at this point. We plan to hire another but at this point we are doing great with the crew we have now.

You also need to add antennas, a stand and BNC cables to your list. Sharkfins are most common, but if you've got a larger budget, look at the helicals, too. I'm hearing really good things about them.

I use 1 sharkfin (PSC) -directional
and 1 dipole (lectrosonics) -omni

A lot of people go this route as well.
Great for covering your bases.

I also use the Lectro dipole with the remote audio "mod" for my comtek's
