Venetian blind effect

I shot a stand-up comic recently and he was wearing the brightest multi-colored striped shirt I've ever seen. There was no time to get him to change, so we had to go with it. But, now, of course, I've got that strobing like effect you get when you shoot venetian blinds or other striped stuff. Any ideas on a filter or technique to fix this?

Try a slight blur -- Gaussian, start with .001 and increase as suits your taste.
