Peter is right, shoot 30 and if you drop it into a 24p timeline you get an automatic 20% slowdown.
and vegas will interpolate frames between slow mow if set to do so, and it gives a muddled kinda look. You can look to see that effect in the little bike shot i did on Friday, check the Clip/Frame grab thread for the link.
Hey 2pop Peter! Thanks! Good to see you here. I hope you like it, I couldn't find a dedicated place for the DVX so i thought what the hell and started one.
Specially on Vegas stuff alone I hope it helps alot of people. The sonic Foundry forums stink in my opinion.

wait.. so I dont need to use velocity envelopes it does it automatically?
For BiscuitBoy: Not to put too fine a point on it, but when you bring in the 30 frames you shot during one second at 30p into your NLE and then play them back at 24 frames per second, you are not really "doing" anything to it. It simply plays 20% slower because you shot 20% more frames during that second than your normal stuff at 24p. (assuming that your project is a 24p project).
If you want to slow it down even more, you start using Velocity Envelopes in Vegas. I wish we could over crank beyond 30p, but at this price point that is just dreaming.
