Vehicle Wrap

A wrap would be great advertising for the business- just as effective as a billboard without the expense. But if I were having a vehicle wrapped, and my equipment was ever left alone in it, I would have that equipment insured to the hilt. And make sure it covers theft from a vehicle, even unlocked.

My question is -- where is the contact info? Phone number? Email? Website or Facebook page? Even the city and state, since you may travel a bit.

Okay, I do see the website on there, but don't you want people to have multiple ways of contacting you? If your phone number is there, then they might pull out their cell phones while still behind your van and call you up. And I still believe the city/state is important, unless that van never leaves your home town.

Also, what do you do? "David Jones Films" is pretty non-specific. You might want to list some of your services.

Here is the small magnetic sign we have on our car.

I think I have pretty much decided not to do any wrap, and to go back to small magnetic signage on the doors which can be removed when needed.

As a side, It has been my experience that unless you have a very memorable phone number, they are pointless for things like billboards & benches, :15 & :30 second TV & radio commercials, rolling vehicles. It is much easier for someone to remember an easy web address than a phone number. Rather than laundry listing stuff, drive them to your website where any needed information can be found.

That's true, except for all the folks who aren't computer savvy. Yes, they are still out there. And they've been remembering phone numbers for a long, long time. Are you willing to write them off as potential customers?

BTW, I can't help but notice your example vehicle wrap shows your website as "DavidJonesFilms.com", yet your signature here has it as "joneshdfilms.com". Same company?

I remember when getting insurance it was a whole lot more expensive for a wrapped vehicle vs one with magnetic signage as well. Better to be incognito.

Yep, both mine.

I started on the second site and intended to use it, but I have been so busy knocking out commercials that I haven't had time to finish it.

I remember about a decade ago shopping around for a possible new business insurance provider(ended up staying with my same agent). I started talking to my agent that handles my personal property and he started running numbers. He called me back and asked if I had a website. I said NO and he said GOOD. Told me that the primary underwriting company deemed it a higher risk having website! But that wouldn't have mattered anyway, because once they asked if I did stills or video, they wouldn't touch me after I told them TV. They said the risk was too high.

It seems like in my world, it's mostly word-of-mouth anyway. I've thought about having a website done, but 18 years in and I still haven't gotten to it… Lol
