vegas5 wont reco the firewire connected tv

any1 have an idea why vegas will preview out to tapedecksony(GVD_1000) but not when i connect the firewire link to the dvtv?
help fast before i send it back!

the tv didnt come with any software, tis a sylvania 13" dvtv with firewire input, was going to use as my preview in vegas

I can't find any info on this TV which would lead me to believe it could decode and display DV signal. Not something you would expect in a $75 TV.

ty for your help looks like im going to have to call markertek, is it possible to
do what im trying? or do i have the incorrect monitor?

vegas should reco it and preview the files but......no dice just snowcrash on all channels

Go to Options/Preference/Video Device. What shows in the drop-down window at the top?

No, at the TOP, where it says "Device." You should have "OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394/DV." If you don't click the down arrow and select it.
