vegas vs premiere

Re: vegas vs premiere

I suspect that Serge is using an online translator to try to convert his questions to English, and if so it's going to be tough to understand each other. I've been trying to figure out how to answer his question as well, and I'm afraid I just don't understand it either.

Serge, try being more specific. The questions are not making sense to us.

Re: vegas vs premiere

Is the final output comparable between the two? can one blow the other away output-wise (in any circumstance)? Or are the main differences mostly workflow related?
Also, if there are fewer steps...
The Vegas workflow is simply so much faster than Premiere, and takes so many fewer clicks to get something done, that it more than makes up for the render at the end.
(I hate to question Barry ???)...used in a typical vegas workflow, does that translate into less precision (or control over content) or am I way offbase?
I am thinking about switching to Vegas (I guess I could use both), is there a pro/con list?

Re: vegas vs premiere

Best thing is to download a demo. You sound like you might fall into the category of people for whom ability is not the question, but how much the workflow fits your personal preference. This is something you'll need to experience for yourself.

Re: vegas vs premiere

Download the demos.

Personally I am a fan of Premiere.

but vegas's color correction and 5.1 mixing controls are worlds better.

Which version of premiere are we talking about though? Premiere Pro has EXCELLENT color correction tools. 6.5 is somewhat lame but Pro rocks in that sense. It doesn't match Vegas for audio out of the box though.

Premiere's MPEG encoder is a joke compared to the quality you will get out of Vegas

Got to disagree here. They both use the same compression setup by the same company. No difference.

I'm not sure about the workflow comment. For me Premiere is faster. It's just the type of setup I am used to. Such a broad statement doesn't hold much water. It's rather personal in nature.
