Vegas vs Canon 7d

10/11 were upgraded to work better with H.264. In Vegas 9 you will need to use an intermediate like Cineform. I use Cineform with 10 in any case, good codec that keeps quality.

I drop 7d footage in with no transcoding, both 10.e and 11. It's the least of my problems.

I just got the offer in my vegas 9 to upgrade to 11, really sweet price.

I honestly have been happy enough using Vegas and DVFilm's EPIC plugin to transcode in the background that I never even looked at what 10 or 11 offer.

Anyone want to fill me in on what features you guys think are most worth upgrading for?

v10 introduced the ability to add FX to audio just like you always could with video (i.e. without rendering) - that made a big difference for me personally.

v11's Title Pro looks really nice, but i've only fiddled with it so far.

The improved file handling (especially H.264) has been the big issue for many users.

Interesting. I have CS5 production studio for things like titles, and DVFilm's Epic seems to handle the h.264 files quite nicely (although it would be nice NOT to have to wait for it to transcode in the background to run at full speed).

FX to audio is interesting, but not sure it is a killer feature for me. Here's something that's always bugged me, though: motion blur on movement (titles, transitions, frame and graphic movement, etc) is glaringly absent. I keep hoping with each new version, I'll see it advertised as a new feature but I never do.

Its one of the reasons I sometimes pick Premiere over Vegas- I own both, but actually prefer the quick workflow of Vegas. However, Premiere's integration with AE and support of motion blur adds so much if the production is anything more than just some simple cuts. Does the new title system address that at all?
