Vegas to Premiere

Hey everyone, I'm a Sony Vegas editor. Been using Vegas for about 8 years now. I love it. But I just got a mac for my home machine and as a result I'm going to be forced to use Premiere since Vegas isn't available on mac.

I've cut with premiere before, only in practice, not for anything serious. I have a couple of workflow issues with this software I was wondering if some of you might help me address.

1. Multiple resolutions on the same timeline. Something Vegas handles by default

2. The scrubber bar in Premiere seems to only be grabbed from the top area versus anywhere in Vegas. This is a HUGE issue for me. I love being able to click my mouse anywhere on the timeline in Vegas and have the scrubber bar appear there. Is there a fix for this in Premiere?

At the moment I guess these are the only two issues I can think of. Though I'm sure there is more. But these two thing alone make Premiere feel like ancient editing software to me. The work flow is really really slow compared to Vegas. But I know it's good software. I just can't imagine all of you working this slow, which has me thinking there has to be some fixes for this stuff.

Thanks.

1) Premiere Pro has handled Multiple Assets on the timeline for some time now. If an asset doesn't fit, you will need to scale it. By default the asset will be placed 1:1 pixels. You can select a lot of clips on the timeline, hit Mouse2 --> Scale to frame size and Premiere will match the AR and try to fit the entire file in the frame.

2) No. You'll need to get use to it. I highly reccomend getting a nice mouse if you are editing on a Mac since the mice they come with are not efficent IMO. Also get a mouse that lets you tweak the drivers as the mouse acceleration co-efficent on OS X is pretty high compaired to Windows
