Vegas' sound v. CoolEdit Pro?

How does Vegas' sound compare to that of using CoolEdit Pro? I've been using that for my sound needs since working at a radio station years ago and have loved it (it's workflow however is similar to Premiere). Does anyone here have experience with CoolEdit Pro? Details helpful.
Thanks

No experience with it, but didn't Adobe buy it and incorporate it into their production suite, renaming it Audition? If you're a Premiere user, seems like the logical choice then.

Shows how on-the-ball I am with my software! Hopefully Adobe will do good things with it. Okay, question revised then, LOL (sheepishly),
Thanks Barry

I use cool edit pro and love it, for effects that is. I have Vegas set up to use cool edit as audio editor, so when I right click - open in audio editor. I could use Sound Forge but don't think it has the power of cool edit.
Multi track, automation (kinda like scripts that you can record), sample rate change, bit rate change.... on and on. Every type of encoding. Only one problem, still have yet to record from digital inputs.

Cool! thanks HunterG! So you use them both, that's what I was contemplating. I'm thinking of switching from premiere and I've heard people touting the sound in Vegas as superior (to premiere), but I always switched to Cooledit for my sound work anyway. Just wondering if that was not the case with Vegas.
Thanks again.
