Several methods
1. hold CTRL while click/dragging the right edge of the clip/event to the right. That'll slow it down. (do the opposite to speed it up)
2. Right click media, go to Properties, and set playback rate to desired speed. .500=half speed, for instance.

On the VASST site, you'll find a tutorial on this subject, and it's not trying to "sell you a CD" or anything else. Just gotta sign up, and that's free.

And yet another way to do it. Right click the clip, scroll down the menu and press "insert velocity envelope". This will allow you to modify, with an envelope the speed of your clip. That way you can ramp up and down the speed that you want the clip.

Oh, and while we talk about slow motion... I can do slow motion on video just fine, but when it comes to slowing down the sound, it gets all choppy and laggy. How do I get this low-pitch-slow-motion to it?

just trying to help.

Is this another way of doing slowmo, getting rid of that tacky, blurry picture? I just hate doing slowmo in vegas, not knowing how to do it nicely. Remember back in the day when i was using premiere, it was no problemo with the picture. I must do something wrong.

The sound issue you solve by clicking properties on the soundclip and then checking one of the boxes coming up. Don't remember wich one right now, sorry

sorry.. 25p or 50i (pal) I made some succes though when using "don't resample" feature last time. that was 25p material. I really wanna do nicely smothley but crisplooking slowmo.
