Vegas Rendering problem!

So i have a 30 minute video in vegas, i'm a long time user since V4, I'm on V8 pro now.
When i render as mp3, wav, and even AVI, it counts up to 12% then stops, but the "time remaining" counter keeps going down. I've waited till it reached 0:00 and it will still be stuck @ 12%. I have to hard stop Vegas every time...

So i changed some settings and render properties and again... 12%

Then i tried Selectively pre-rendering and that worked fine, but then when i tried render the project, guess what? you guessed it, 12%!

I have an i7 with 3G's of triple-channel ddr3. Radeon HD 4670 with 1g of memory on that. Windows XP 32bit. and Vegas pro 8.0c (build 260)

Standard Def project, No color effects or Track motion. Just 24 lines of audio and foley with variations of pitch bending and reverb. but i have never had this trouble before with larger projects. my latter project was a Vietnam war film and had a whopping 52 lines of audio! Rendered with no problems. Even stranger, there is no special audio effects at the approximate area of 12%... ???

hit me up! thanks all.

Don't know. Unless there's some issue with the new i7, there shouldn't be a problem.

Is your BIOS updated to the processor? (I imagine an i7 mobo would be.)

yea, that was my original thought. The i7 is blazing fast... when it want's to be. sometimes it hangs up tho. But now that i think of it i saw a similar problem on yahoo Q's with no response, the guy had the same issue with rendering.

I defrag'd and shut down for a good 6 hours. so i know it can't be hardware as last night it was doing completely fine. it just decided to just not render anymore. I'll even change the loop region to a different part of the project and it'll only make maybe 9% before locking up.

just tested another project and it renders 100%... you think maybe it is the audio lines? I'll try muting 1 line of audio at a time till it works. then redo that line that's holding it up. I'll keep u posted.

yea, it's gotta be the pitch shifting, because it'l render the other lines... now why wont it render anything with pitch shift?

I doubt those drivers are interfering, then.

Fortunately, a deinstall/reinstall is fairly quick and painless with Vegas -- give that a shot.
