Vegas Quicktime problem

I've got Vegas Pro 8.0c installed on two different computers. I'm editing a film which has two clips that were shot on a Sony EX-1. I converted them using EXBrowser, into .MOV clips.

The project is on an external hard drive, and I have moved it from one computer to the other several times without any problems. But now, one of the computers won't display the video on these .MOV clips -- either on the thumbnail, the timeline, or the preview. When I render out a DVD or .WMV file, the clips just show black. (There's no audio on either clip.) The clips display fine on the other PC.

I have QuickTime Pro installed on both PC's. The versions were the same -- 7.6 (472). But when I started having this problem, I uninstalled that version from the affected PC and installed the latest version, which is 7.6.9 (1680.9). That didn't fix the problem.

I copied the qt7plug.dll file from the working PC to the non-working PC, but that didn't do it either.

So I'm at a loss. Anyone got any ideas?

Okay, problem solved!

Apparent the issue is version 7.6xx of QuickTime. It seems to have some problems with Vegas. For the record, I was able to open the .MOV files and play them in QuickTime, they just wouldn't work properly in Vegas.

I uninstalled the QT 7.6.9 and installed an earlier version -- 7.5. And now it works!

Anybody else have this problem?
