Vegas Pro 9 or wait for 10?

Any guesses or insider knowledge or rumors as to when Vegas Pro 10 might be released? I have 8, would like to upgrade, so tired of codec issues (can't render mp4 / H.264, issues importing h.264 [Canon T2i footage] that sometimes is solved but closing and restarting Vegas Pro 8).

I see 7 to 8 happened in the span on one year, 8 to 9 took 18 months (Sept 2008 to May 2010)-- on that latter timeline, November would be another 18 month cycle. Might Pro 10 come out this autumn? I just do not want to pay for 9 when 10 could be just around the corner.

While I assume that they're working on 10, there has been no announcement of it, so when it's going to happen is anyone's guess. Past release intervals don't mean a whole lot.

Unless you want to wait indefinitely, you don't have much choice but to go for 9.

Go 9. I think it's really good now. They've ironed out the bugs and I get crashes rarely (still get em, but MUCH more rarely). I never crash when rendering now (mainly H264 mp4), and I never get the INFINITE render which is basically a crash since I have to force close the program.
