Vegas Pro 9- NAB

Will be interested to see what the "new layout features" are. In the pic, they're obviously attempting to emulate FCP or Premiere:

Which has its benefits and drawbacks. Of course, if it's still completely, fully customizable it doesn't matter what the default layout it.

Oh Sure, ..the DAY after I shell out $150 for Raylight Ultra, Sony announces, 'Vegas Pro 9 can efficiently edit and process DV, AVCHD, HDV, SD/HD-SDI, and all XDCAM™ formats in real time,'
I am not lol.

Yes, and the respect must be mutual, because Panny still doesn't show Vegas as AVCHD compatible.... Tis a shame they can't play well her...

Well, to be fair, its support of Panasonic's AVCHD is . . . less than perfect. Maybe it'll be different in 9.

What's that got to do with Raylight?

I like this new layout. I'm an edius guy but I might give this a try on the trial version.

The way I understand it is that you will be able to configure the GUI to your taste just like you can now in Vegas 8.

I'm just happy to have a darker work space....

Too bright!!!

Yay, for r3d native!!! Only 4k which means 5k and larger won't happen till V10?

What's with the 10-bit stuff? Will Vegas support 10-0bit displays? If so how? I never (only twice) set up a monitor on Vegas. How would we feed that? I guess we would need a special video card or at least a very good one? Kona type of card?

And thank god I can now work with a darker GUI.

I think you can customize it somewhere, but I never found it. I am with you on the workspace being too bright!

Fast AVCHD native support would be great for me as I hope to edit a job shot on 150 some time soon.
