vegas Pro 11... rendering a 2D into 3D

I need some serious help here before i pull out all of my hair...

I have a video and i just want to try and see what it looks like with the 3D plug in. I have the NVIDEA card, and the 3D VISION 2 glasses. Can someone PLEASE walk me through what needs to be done........ i've looked and looked and cant seem to find anything giving direction. Do i have to add Sony Vegas to the NVIDEA graphics card.... GRRRRR!!!

this is what i know how to do... set my project file for stereoscopic, i set it at side by side full, then i add the 3d effect adjustment into the clip, but i think i need to set my NVIDEA card or something up. my shutter glasses won't turn on in vegas, and all i see is two images of the clip I'm trying to 3D...someone told me to get the depth i want with Red Green, then just render it as side by side with the same settings, but i would kinda like to see what it looked like before hand...
