Vegas picture DVD project

I'm putting together a picture collection on the time line in Vegas so that I can do some editing to make it a little more interesting than just a bunch of stills fading into one and other.
All the photos are from a digtal camera so I'm not sure what to do about there aspect ratio.
My question is how should I set up the time line in order to get the best picture quality? It will be viewed on a TV screen . should I be using a 24p 30i or 60i template?
How should I deal with the aspect ratio? will Vegas deal with that when rendering?

I would think I should go with non iterlaced but this is a first for me.

Thanks !

I'd definitely go progressive. I'm working on one for a friend's wedding and I'm going 24P. What's nice about using digital stills is that you have a lot of resolution to play with, so zooming in works great.

Not on this project, but I did one a couple of years ago for someone and it turned out really well as a 24P project.
