Vegas on a mac

[TheMacB]

My brother and I have just been hired by a company whose facilities are all Mac. But we are all Vegas. Anybody have any experience with Parallels Desktop? or any way of running Vegas on a mac? We're trying to decide whether it will be necessary to buy a PC for the office. Thanks!

It'll run fine on Windows on a MacIntel with Bootcamp. Don't know about Parallels.

Parallels works too, I'm using it for my part time job since they are determined to go MAC.

It's not quite as fast, but definitely works.

sweet. thanks guys.

Apple says that Bootcamp is Beta version and not covered by Apple's support service. Do I have anything to worry about there?

[David Jimerson]

Lots of people use it.

Will Vegas on Mac use Macs 64 Bit processor capabilities??

Will Vegas on Mac use Macs 64 Bit processor capabilities??

Was wondering if one uses Vegas on Mac with windows, will Vegas take advantage of Macs capabilities of the 64 bit processors??

In other words, will Vegas run faster on Mac with Windows or PC with windows?

Thanks.

The new 64-bit verson of Vegas will tak advantage of the 64-bit version of Windows.

Whether Windows will take advantage of the 64-bit Mac processors or whether Bootcamp will allow it to are different questions.

Since my 7 year old laptop is in serious need of replacement - is this yet another reason to get an 17 MacBook pro?

Only if you want the Mac stuff. If you don't, there's no reason to get one.
