Vegas Not Rendering Mov Files

Hey guys this is the first time this has happened I don't know what it could be but when I try to render quicktime 6 in defualt format at quality set to good or best 30-40% into the render I get a file error that says "make sure you have write access or enough free space in the designated file" I have a 300gb hard drive with 150 gigs of space free and to make sure I had write access I moved a 8gig file from my C to my H(300gig) drive with no problem. I am not sure why this just started happening. Any ideas? I tried restarting with no luck:(

Alright I checked that it was not the problem. It seems to mess up on this mpeg2 file I imported however If I am only rendering it and a couple of other things using the loop region it works. THIS IS SOME KINDA SERIOUS TECHNICAL BS. If I cut the project down to just that clip and a few others without the loop region it fails to render. With the loop region it works. So I fugure use loop region for whole project right!? Wrong now as the full project rendering within loop region it fails. DOES ANYONE HAVE A CLUE!?

Mr Debugger here... If you remove that mpeg file from your timeline, does everything else render correctly? AFter that can you re-add it (no other additions) and does it work? Can you render a project that has ONLY the mpg, with no fx, etc.. ? If the problem is definitely the Mpeg and not an FX or something else, you could assume the mpg is corrupt. Of course someone who knows what they are talking about could have a different answer.

Okay I tried deleting that file out of the timeline completely and it didn't fix it it still didn't finish rendering. I have added FX only from vegas no MB keep the ideas coming guys!!!!

If you are still getting the out of space error, it has to be a temp file setting. If it was me I would go thru all my Vegas prefs VERY CAREFULLY, looking for anything that points to the c drive. Vegas uses lots of temp space, and I think there are 4-5 different places you need to set temp spaces. I just stumbled over one about a week ago....

You could also try cleaning up all the crap on your c drive so you get more space, deleting temp files, IE temp files, etc. Maybe even defragment your drive. But I am 95% sure it is a temp file setting. BWTHDIK ?

I have over 6 gigs on my C when the file is only going to be 3 or 4. There's no way it runs outa space that easy. I am going to try to prerender the entire file maybe that will help? Also what does BWTHDIK mean?

BWTHDIK = But What the Heck Do I Know?

Obviously nothing. I don't even know how much space vegas would need in temp space to do a render.

Good Luck.
