Vegas Multicam vs Ultimate S

I have been a vegas 7 and US3 user for years. Now, I am looking to upgrade. I have heard great things about the multicam tool in vegas 9. I downloaded the trial and I must say I am not impressed with that feature. I think Ultimate S really has better multicam tool.

I edit several dance recitals a year and I can not rely on audio to sync due to camera positions. Its a start, but there is some fine tuning that has to be done. Am I just missing this in the multicam feature in vegas or is Ultimate S still better?

It would be inappropriate for me to tell you that the Ultimate S multicam tool is better because I am one of the authors of Ultimate S ;-) but I will say that it has far more flexibility than the built in Vegas multicam tool. The biggest complain I've heard about the built-in tool is that it is one-way only. Once you combine the tracks there is no way to split them back out again! So if you need to resync footage you are stuck and have to start over. People have duplicated their tracks before using the built-in multicam but it still doesn't give you the flexibility that Ultimate S gives you. Personally, I don't think you've missed anything. The Vegas multicam tool just isn't as feature rich. Which is better is for you to decide based on your workflow.
