Vegas messed up my pulldown

So I'm creating a normal NTSC DV project. The footage from my DVX was shot in 24P-normal mode. and I only need to retain that pulldowned film-look in a 29.97 fps domain. After I do a selective prerender, and play back the timeline out of the firewire device, the strobbiness that is normally associated with 1/48-24P DVX is no long there! Vegas must have somehow shuffled around the pulldown order. I double checked by playing a raw clip in the trimmer and that 1/48-look is very apparent. How do I set Vegas for 60i-24P look?

I'm using the NTSC DV 29.970 project preset with lower field first.

Okay.. I believe I've found the culprit. "Smart Resample" Is enabled for all the video events. WHAT THE HELL!?!?! why is this enabled by default? And how do I disable it across the entire timeline? This is also the reason by Vegas is rendering everything, instead of just the effects+transitions.

You shouldn't have to resample anything. First of all, why are you editing in 29.97fps timeline? Are you mixing footage with other 60i footage? IF so, go to the tools panel, and then go to options. In options go to the general tab and look about halfway down the list, there will be a checkbox that says remove pulldown on 24p material, (or something like that). Uncheck that box. NOw you can edit your footage in a 29.97fps timeline without resampling the footage. If you want to edit in a true 24p timeline, set it to that, and make sure that the remove pulldown option is now check, (you might half to restart vegas each time you change this setting). WHen it is working properly, in your files tab it will give you the properties of the clip. The clip should say 24p removing 2:3 or 2:3:3:2 pulldown.

Hope this helps.
