Vegas & Mackie Control

Wow, I just got my Mackie Control to work with Vegas, it's really hot!

Does anyone know if there is an overlay template for the Mackie Control for Vegas?

Re: Vegas & Mackie Control

Mackie has been promising a Vegas overlay for many months, but I have yet to see one. The order form to link to does not list a Vegas overlay.

I am going to call Mackie first thing tomorrow morning to order it. Will let you know if it is available.

The Mackie Control is connected via Midi. There is direct support (which you can customize) in Vegas 5.0.

Re: Vegas & Mackie Control

That looks pretty sweet..and the Jog/Shuttle works too for like scrubbing ...or moving by frames ?

Re: Vegas & Mackie Control

Go to -> Options -> Preferences -> External Control & Automation -> Available Devices and select Mackie Control - then Add button

Then go to MIDI and enable the midi channel your mackie control is on (input and output)

Re: Vegas & Mackie Control

There is a jog (frame by frame) but no shuttle (unfortunately). However the transport control buttons work very well.

Gary:

I ordered my Vegas overlay this morning from Mackie for a total of $20. They are in stock!

She said you can order by phone or if you want to order online to specify in the comments section that you want the Sony Vegas overlay.

you should be able to do both. . . jog wheel for smooooth scrubbing and nudge buttons for frame2frame. . .this video shows how to setup the M-Audio ProjectMix I/O with Vegas and gives some feature demos. The Projectmix supports the mackie control surface protocol, so the functionality in terms of faders and whatnot should be similar - the ProjectMix just adds an 8-input audio interface as well. Check out how well the scrub works:

This thread is sort of old now, did anyone try this out yet? Does it work as well as it does in the video?
