Vegas low on memory?!

To be honest, I'm starting to get tired of the errors, and memory errors. Since sony took over the the app from sonic foundry, it has gone massively down hill. Sony are releasing "new versions" e.g. version 8, version 9, with very little changes - all they seem to do are some minor tweaks and change the graphics to show "version 9" as opposed to "version 8". It's even worse with sound forge and their other apps. And the bugs just continue and continue through even major version upgrades. It feels like they literally just stick a new label on the same software every year. I wish Sony had never bought it from Sonic Foundry - I think hardware companies need to stick to hardware, many, sony included, don't seem to do well at software.

Although I disklike working with Macs immensely, they're slower, user interface is less efficient, and have many cons, if you know what you're doing on PC and Mac, the PC generally takes half the time, not only down to processing power, but user interface - I've already changed my audio to Mac because Logic was no longer created for PC - the audio takes longer to work on now, but at least it gets done. It looks like I might have to consider moving my video production across to Mac and working with FCP. I'm not expecting Sony to change any time.

I'm not expecting Sony to change anytime soon either. It's a sad state of affairs, because I think Vegas has the best interface (for what I edit anyway) of all the major editors out there but this rendering and random crash crap has to stop. Since V8 it seems that unless I am doing a straight up DV project I get screwed by this stuff.
