Vegas - HDV capture

[TheZulu]

Hi folks,

I am having a problem capturing HDV on Vegas Platinum 7. The camera I am using is a Sony "HDR-HC3 HDV 1080i". The camera is set to capture in HD. I have plugged the camera into the pc using a firewire cable and this works fine to capture in normal DV as I have done so many times.

I have set the Device Type under Prefs / Device Tab to be "IEEE 1394/MPEG2-TS Device" (see attached pic)

and clicked on apply, but the "Device" dropdown list is greyed out.

Any Ideas

You don't need to set a "device," which is why the dropdown is greyed out.
