I am looking to make a standard DVD as my final product. I plan to take 720p60 with a GH1 in AVCHD format. I understand that Vegas will not edit well with the AVCHD directly. My understanding is that I can use a final fps of either 24 or 30 on a standard DVD. I don't particularly want a "film look" so I plan to use 30p. My question is this: Can I use Vegas to first convert the AVCHD to the proper size with 30p and then use Vegas to do the editing before using the DVD authoring SW that comes with Vegas to complete the DVD? Or is there a reason I will need something like Neo Scene to do the pre-editing conversion? Since the original AVCHD is already progressive and I am not heading for 24p is there any real value in using Neo Scene?
