Vegas DVD

I finally have my film done after many months of editing so now it is time to put it onto the DVD to do my screening. One way is to go from the time line but was told I wouldn't be able to get the full quality look that the film has and that I would need to get a blue ray burner. Is there a way to burn it through the Vegas Pro DVD 5 - to get a good look or am I needing to find a different way?

Do you want DVD, or do you want Blu-ray?

DVDs are SD only. Blu-rays are HD.

How do I do blue-ray? I guess I would have to update my vegas pro or at least update vegas dvd and would that give me blue-ray or do I need to get a blue-ray burner? Vegas Dvd Pro 5 is what I have. IF I burn blue-ray would it play on reg dvd players or only on blue-ray players?

DVD = Standard Definition ( 720x480 pixels )

Blu-ray = High Definition ( 1920x1080 and 1280x720 pixels )

DVD Architect 5 can author and burn Blu-ray. Vegas can export in Blu-ray format.

Blu-rays do not play on standard DVD players.
