Vegas Doesn't Like Importing 24f

For some reason when I try to import 24f footage from my Canon XHA1, Vegas creates a clip for every 3 or so frames, so I end up with hundreds of clips for maybe a minute or two of footage and it is unusable. I don't get this problem with 60i footage. I've checked settings on both Vegas and my camera and I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Does anyone know what's going on?

Many, many, people have the same bug. Sony hasn't fixed it yet. The recommendation is you download HDVSplit and you capture from that, or you use Vegas 7 to do the job, that doesn't have the bug.

I just noticed it did the same thing with 60i footage from my A1 using HDV footage and capturing via cineform HD. It ran fine till at the end it started to create all these little clips on the blank footage out in the last 2 minutes of tape.

In the Vegas capture options, there is a checkbox for "detect scenes. If this is unchecked (I think it's checked by default) do you still get the same issues?
