This is the first time ive tried importing a divx file onto the timeline and Vegas Froze up and had to be shut down. I tried again. Same Result. Any ideas Please ?

I've been using Divx compressed files in a few projects and have not run into any issues. I am running version 6.0d, and I made sure that I had installed the Divx codec. Do the files run fine on your system outside of Vegas?

Yes they do. I have Divx Player installed. The files run perfectly well on media player. But they hang in Vegas. ???

I'm having issues with DivX files on the Vegas timeline, too.

They run, but they're really slow. Is this a known issue?

If it helps, I dropped a 2 hour DVD rip film on the timeline. Maybe it's the way it was encoded?

it might have something to do with different divx and xvid codecs on your system.

i used to have a problem where i could drag in the file, but got only either a video or audio track, but never both at the same time. then, the last time i formatted, i just used ffdshow instead of installing the xvid and divx codecs separately and haven't had a problem since.
