Check your ram and see how it is being used. Do you have a lot of programs running in the background? Turn off any unnecessary program. Otherwise run a memtest88 and see if your ram is going bad. I had to replace my ram recently and found it to be the problem. Also check to make sure your running under DMA mode for your hard drive. It is under device manager in your system folder and look under IDE ATA. Then look under advanced settings.

wow...I've recently been plagued by the same problem, except its crashing when I render with a motion blur applied. In my case, Vegas just disappears half the time. The other half, I get a Vista prompt that the program has crashed. It seems to happened at or around the same frame in the project. after removing the motion blur, the project renders fine. Decreasing the effect also allows for a crash free render, but that's not a solution : /.
I'm running vista 64 and vegas 8a. never had any crashing problems before this.

I'm having an issue with my rendering.

I'm working with the 30 day free trial of Vegas Pro 8.0c and at first I was having no troubles but it seems to be getting worst.

I thought because I was working with AVCHD files natively that that's what caused the “hanging” but I tried a simple test with nothing but jpeg, tiff and opening and closing titles and it hangs.

Vista Ultimate 32 bit.
3 gigs of RAM
T9400 2.5GHz

Rendering out to Windows Media HD 720p 24.

Approximate time reaches 00:00.
Percentage bar hangs at 99%.
Elapsed Time continues to count.

It will do this until I use Task Manager to close it or hit the Cancel button.

I had no problems at first but it's getting worst.

Thanks smithy for your help.

I run memtest88 for about 8 hours, and no errors.
My HDD runing in Ultra DMA Mode. What is that, and do I have to change it?
