In capture mode, I was capturing the video fine, but the audio track came up blank?

If I dragged a file to the timeline, the audio plays fine to the output of my speakers.

What audio track in capture mode are you talking about?

In the project itself, it could be that the audio just doesn't register as a waveform on the visual representation of the clip because it's very low. Right-click on the audio and select "switches" and then "normalize" and see if that brings up a waveform.

I think I answered my own question. I was attempting to use the audio coming out of my video going into the A/D converter while Vegas was capturing from my OHCI.

I will just run the audio from the VCR directly in the OHCI and that should resolve the issue. Will try when I get home later.

I got the audio working fine and also preview on external monitor.

I just finished my first edit project. Nothing fancy, just very basic stuff. My best friend has a weekly Hip Hop radio show called "Coast 2 Coast Hip-Hop Countdown". The hosts of the show were on BET on 106th & Park as judges for Freestyle Fridays which is a freestyle rap battle between two contestants. I captured the footage from VCR, did some basic cuts and crossfades, rendered the file and then brought it into Quicktime and saved as an MPEG4 file so that they can put it on their website. All without reading the manual so far! ;D

He also did an interview with Miri Ben-Ari aka "The Hip-Hop Violinist" who is from Israeli born and is soon to release her album on Universal Records. They recorded it with an XL1 and as soon as I figure out how to take the footage off the DVD, I will do the same and create a MPEG4 as the final product to go on the website.

Looks like Vegas and I are off to a wonderful start.
