Just for the record guys (since this might help people trying to search for the same answer i was looking for sometime back). I thought id let youll know that i got the cam company to send home a SONY Z1 and i was very nervous since i was having problems capturing normal dv with vegas on my workstation. But what a paradox, Vegas recognised, captured and edited the HDV clips without a glitch to say the least. It was like heaven to see the M2T files lining up in the media bin. Camera response was very good. There was absolutely no lag like what i was getting with dv captures. I could fwd/rwd video,, pick clips and it did an amazing job at auto detecting clips that too of very short length like 1 or 2 secs in duration. At last im at peace that i can make my hd documentary on my recently built workstation. My system is a 3.4 ghz dual core, 2 gb ram, 2mb x 2... L2 cache, Nvidia 6600 Video card, 250 gb sata x 3 drives. Im still wondering how it can do this but not be able to pick up on lower end dv clips.
