Vegas Automation with mouse?

I was wondering if there is a way to use the mouse as a controller for automation settings. I'm making a video which will have lyrics on the bottom of the screen, and I need a ball to bounce on top of the words when they are sung. So, rather than going through and adding the key frames individually I was wondering if I could use the mouse to edit the position of an track layer automatically. If there is a plugin that does what I need to do, or another way that does what I need to do, please let me know.

Also, if none of this is possible, does anyone have any other ideas besides the bouncing ball to animate the lyrics when they are sung that would be relatively easy?

Thanks,

pfista

I too would like to know this, and also whether it's possible to generate keyframes from some other variables such as volume. Building keyframes by hand can be a real pain. Are there any 'keyframe generator' scripts/utilities out there?

The cheesy el cheapo method of 'animating' the lyrics would be to just highlight (via colour or bolding or underlining) each word as it's sung, along the lines of karaoke videos. But a bouncing ball would be much cuter... although I'm not convinced that mouse automation will really help you - unless you're amazingly accurate with your realtime mouse pointing
