Vegas Audio Format Help!

Alright - here we go.


Is it just me, or are .mp3s not accepted formats in Vegas? What formats can, and can I not use in Vegas(6.0c to be exact)?

I cannot recall ever having this issue with MP3's.

Yeah, MP3 should work. Is it a copy-protected format? Like whatever itunes uses?

No no no. Almost all of my music is P2P acquired - and my iTunes music can still be imported - and Vegas is telling me ".mp3 is not a supported format."

"P2P" does not mean it isn't copy-protected (though it does mean it's stolen, most likely).

You should have no problems with MP3s. Unless you're using Vegas Studio and there's some kind restriction with that?

Apparently there is a restriction...

For some reason I have to convert a file if I want to use it.
My iTunes songs (the ones that I bought from iTunes) work fine.
Why wouldn't mp3s?

no idea. mp3 is a fully supported file with vegas. maybe a reinstall is in order.

Thanks scharky. Turns out a reinstall did do the trick. The error before was that Sony Media Library installation had been cancelled (who could have done THAT?).
