Vegas and the AJ-HDX100

So there's all this excitement about the new Panny cam and how it's going to revolutionize the world (and believe me, I'll be right there in line next to everyone else that's gonna grab it up when it hits), but as far as I know, there's not yet support in Vegas for DVCPRO. Seeing that Vegas is now a Sony product, do you think there will ever *be* support - or because they want to push their own HDV format, they'll just ignore it completely? I'd hate to think I can't use my favorite NLE when the new camera comes out, but I'm not going to pass up on the most influencial piece of hardware in the new century just because a competing company is jealous! :-P

Seriously though, what is the likelyhood that Vegas will be HDX-compatible in a reasonable time frame of the camera's launch?

Probably next release will include HD capture support. You can capture with a different prog and bring those clips into vegas in the mean time. But damn I personally am resisting the HD movement. Who wants to work with bigger data files and there is no media you can use to get it to the viewers yet. Plus it will loose its resolution on their televisions! And who has HD TVs? Only a select few. I have a feeling that HD might get surpassed by something a little better in the next few years. I'm looking for smaller files and higher resolution! That's what I want!

I'm still struggling to get a HD TV for myself. The only problem is there are only a few HD Cable channels out there. Plus I only usually watch DVDs. So I will have an HD TV and poor quality 4.3 signal.

Check out the Sony Vegas forums, they are talking about it.

Sorry just ranting! :p
