Vegas and Magic Bullet

I just received my DVX today and I went to install the magic bullet software and it gave me options of avid and adobe premier + vegas 5.0. Is this outdated software? I was going to buy vegas 6 until I saw this. Will this magic bullet work with vegas 6, if not where can I buy vegas 5.0

Yes, it will work with Vegas 6 ... I currently have the same software from my DVX, installed & it's in the FX directory along with all the other FX items.

One additional note about Magic Bullet...

It makes previewing anything almost impossible because it is so memory intensive, but the final results are well worth it.

Exactly. It's an effect you should add after you're done with your edit. Apply it just before your final render, and then go get a few drinks while it's working.

That, or bypass the effects in your preview window if you're simply wanting to watch for timing of cuts/transitions, etc.

Otherwise, I agree with HorseFilms ... just throw it on in the end (if you want it to effect all tracks, just put it on your video bus) and then walk away for a very long time.

My favorite Magic Bullet story is still from the day I got the DVX I installed it and started applying it to some video clips to see what it was. I kept tweaking it until I got the general look I was looking for and then hit play and everything was so choppy and slow that I actually thought I created a weird psychodelic dream sequence... Needless to say when it rendered it was smooth, but prior to that I thought I had reinvented the wheel or something..... Oh ye of little knowledge.
