Okay, guys. Any help is much appreciated... I start filming on Saturday and this is my first feature. Please let me know if the below is correct...

1. I shoot in 24p Advanced
2. I'm using an Anamorphic Lense
3. I shoot in 4:3
4. I edit in VEGAS 5 on a 23.97 timeline
5. I render video as MPEG-2 with a template for DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen Video Stream
6. I render audio as an AC-3 file.

Is the above correct???

Also, is there a standard setting for the audio when I'm working in VEGAS in relation to entering festivals? That is, if my computer volume is up half-way, should the audio from the footage be at medium volume?? I'm not sure how high it should be cranked up to get all the subtle noises.

Thanks for any help with any or all of the above.

Jeff:

Won't help you much with audio, but I think the rest of your post is essentially correct. The only thing you have to watch for is that you have to convert every clip to widescreen pixel aspect ratio (click right-button on a clip, go into properties, and select NTSC DV Widescreen (1.2121)

Just one more quick question... to film in 4:3, is this in the camera setup under ASPECT CONV? If so, is it the setting for NORM?
