Besides being confused about if I should spend the $185 and get Vegas 9 (is it really any better?)...

What are your opinions of which of the 3 freebies to take: the New Blue video effects, the Sony Sound Effects, or the Sound Forge Audio Studio 9 (I've never used Sound Forge, don't know if it will be useful).

Any opinions? Users of Sound Forge?

Sound Forge by itself is worth it. It's really nice to be able to edit the sound separately and the interface is very similar.

I have Sound Forge 9.0 and can't live without it. The plug ins that come with it are well worth the price alone. If you are doing serious work, you'll want it. Try the Studio version and upgrade when you start realizing you need the additional tools. Integrates perfectly with Vegas Pro 8/9 and has never crashed on me.

Looks like a huge difference between Sound Forge and Audio Studio 9 ($300 or $55)...

any of you use Audio Studio 9 with Vegas and find it useful?

my main problem with editing audio in Vegas has been not being able to boost the level in a track other than "normalizing" it. Would Audio Studio 9 allow me to do this?
