Vegas 8 Crash

I recently purchased a new computer and it came with Vista. I started to run Vegas 7 and it would run fine for 30 minutes and then suddenly crash. So I decided that I would buy the upgrade (V8.0) so it would run more smoothly with Vista.... I am now running V8 and trying to open a V7 project. It loads the project to 100% then gives me this error message...

"AN ERROR HAS OCCURED DURING THE CURRENT OPERATION. AN EXCEPTION HAS OCCURRED"


Any Ideas?

That could be any number of things. Try opening the (name).veg.bak file -- do it through File>Open.

Thanks for the response. I tried to open the .bak file but I got the same error message.

What might be causing this?

yes it loads great in Vegas 7. however V7 is unstable after about 30 minutes of operation and I get the same error message. I purchased V8 because I thought 8 would be more compatable with Vista.

Well, then the .veg file isn't corrupt. Must be a Vista issue.
