Ok so im pretty new to this stuff ...OK if you have a bunch of clips how do you join a clip to another clip??? Because i want to add like a colour tone to my whole video insted of just one clip what is the best way to do this..like if i wanted my video with a earthy tone and so on THANKS??

You can't make two clips into a single clip without rendering, or without using nested projects.
But you can apply effects to more than one clip by adding the effects to the track, or by adding effects to the whole project (to the preview window).
