I got the sony software catalog in the mail. Vegas 8 claims superior mpeg2 previews. Doesn't say anything about editing in mpeg 2. What's the low down?

Is it significantly better at it than vegas 7?

I ALWAYS edited native 720p footage in Vegas 7 without problems on a dual core machine. real time playback on full size best setting was great. If Vegas 8 is even faster, I don't see a problem. Obviously, if you have lots of effects going, that's where you get into trouble.
