Vegas 7 Project for 30F (XHA1)

Hi all, I recently shot with my XHA1 in 30F. What is the proper project template/setting in Vegas to edit this? I've selected HDV 1080 60i (29.97), and capture and playback seem fine on my computer monitor, but I want to double check that this is correct. Is there anything else I need to do in order to work properly with this footage in Vegas?

And, will I be able to then output an HD-DVD movie using a regular SD DVD burner, using a program like Ulead Movie Factory 6 Plus, or Pinnacle 11?

Great, thanks Barry. Do I have to create a new project with None/Progressive, or can I change the current project properties, which were on "Upper Field Only?" Is the footage I captured with "Upper Field Only" selected going to work ok? (None of these changes are a pain; I've only captured a few test clips since I want to set it up right before proceeding!).

What about the "Deinterlace method" setting? It's currently on "Blend Frames."

Thanks again!

Sorry, didn't see the follow-up. All you have to do is change the project properties. It doesn't matter how you captured the footage. Vegas is not like other NLEs, which actually capture the footage differently based on what your project setting is. Vegas captures the footage as it is on the tape, no matter what.

So if I was you, I'd start a new project, set the settings to HDV 1080/60i, then change the "field order" field to "none/progressive" and then save that as a new template, named "XHA1 30F". Then use that for any new 30F project.

The "deinterlace method" shouldn't matter because when you change to "none/progressive", de-interlace shouldn't ever be used at that point.

But nothing will affect your captured footage. It is what it is; having captured (while your project was set for interlaced) doesn't affect anything.
