Vegas 7 learning curve

Hi guys, I'm damn near to switching to Vegas from PP2.0 and was wondering if you could give me some pointers. My ususal workflow in premier is a timeline and the cut tool. I also seperate the video and audio alot and add audio transition like constant gain to it. What would be the ways I would do that in Vegas 7. I learned that S or Split command cuts the clip in the designated spot, now how do I unlink my video and audio and add transitions? Also whats the short key for zooming in and out of the timeline in premier it + or - buttons.

Thanks in advance.

Dmitry - I usually click on the video "event" I want to unlink and press "U." That "ungroups" the audio and video components of that event. Then you can move or adjust the audio & video independently. Just don't forget to finally regroup the audio & video when you're finished by pressing "G" or else you might accidentally move them later when you're adjusting your tracks. Then your audio & video will be out of sync...

To zoom in and out of the timeline, I usually just roll the center scroll wheel on my mouse. Click on the timeline where you want to "center" your zoom in/out action and roll the wheel. It's easy :)

Editing in Vegas can be done in a more traditional way using the trimmer, but I never work that way. I just drag clips into the time line (usually I have a top "scratch" track) and clip/split/trim it right there.

Sooo fast that I love it. Press and hold CTRL and you can use the mouse wheel to scroll up and down through the tracks as well.

Sweet thanks for the reply guys, It's gonna take some getting used to, I still don't even know what an enevlope is :( But I'll over come it in a few days of extensive use. :)
