In Vegas 7, can you make audio sound effects? Say I want to give dialogue that "wooshy dream" or "echo" type sound... Or make it sound like the voice is over the telephone or behind a door/in another room... Can you do that?

Please let me know...

Thanks

Yes, you can, by manipulating numerous effects. I'd search around (vasst.com, jetdv.com) and see if you can find some tutorials.

Howbout changing or modifying voices to get that announcer voice?

You know when you go in theatres and you hear that voice in trailers... *sound effect* "A NEW WORLD..." *sound effect* "A NEW TIME..." *sound effect* "A MAN AND A WOMAN" etc...

Please let me know if there's a plug in or a sound effect or something to modify the voice using Vegas... Cinescore... (or another program)

Thanks again...

Aww, I've looked up voice changers, but the ones I tried DLing didn't work.. If anybody knows where you can get one that gives... "The Voice" ... please let me know... I like that voice... It'd be cool to have that voice... Can anybody picture themselves walking in the streets talking with that voice?

I'm pretty sure that, although they process voice-overs like that to be as clean and booming as possible, the single-biggest thing that makes them work is the person's voice itself. A properly recorded, deep, resonant voice is going to have to be your starting point.

I know a couple of people who, every time I talk to them, make me think in my head "if I ever needed voice-overs, THIS is the guy I would call!" Start listening to people's voices for a week or two, and see if you notice the same thing, some voices just 'sound right' to me.

Just my $0.02,

Yep - it's all in the voice. A good voice with some good processing can help - punch up the "announcer" effect by using the proximity when recording. Try adding some Exciter as a plug. Some light compression at around 3:1 is nice and can help. But really, you need a good voice to start with. The wrong voice can’t be fixed with even great processing. You know the old adage…”You can’t polish a %^&*.”
