Vegas 7.0 - No Audio Preview over firewire?

Can you elaborate? Everything I've read about Vegas (through version 6) says audio is only played back through the CPU audio connection, not over the Firewire connection. I haven't found any threads about this for Vegas 7.0.
The problem with this is that audio and video are always losing sync if you want to use an external NTSC monitor, for example, connected via S-Video to your DV cam, to edit with.

My bad, I misread and thought you said video. Should have read more s l o w l y.
To be honest, I have never tired this. I use 7, so just for giggles I connected the audio on my Canopus and it didn't do squat. I even checked in the audio preferences to see if it would let me change the out put to DV but I couldn't.
Dunno about 8, but I'd guess the manual for 8 is posted on sony's site already if you want to DL and read it.
